The F1 season kicks off in Melbourne every year at the world famous Albert Park racetrack. The Australian Grand Prix has been going since 1928 first held on Phillip Island. Since then it’s been held in every state in Australia but from 1985 it’s been held at the Albert Park racecourse.
Set over 5 days the event is a fantastic time out for all the family with plenty of races to see along with fly by’s from the RAAF and plenty of other attractions. When you are planning on coming back into Melbourne city there are free trams provided with the Route 96 from St Kilda taking you directly into the heart of the city. Just get off at Swanston street and Bourke street stop walk north on Swanston and we are a 5min walk away.
